On May 20, the 2021 National Industrial Internet Platform Empower Deepin Tour (Tianjin Station) event was grandly held during the 5th World Intelligence Conference. The event was co-hosted by Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, China Industrial Technology Software Industry Alliance, and the Fifth Institute of Electronics of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. In his speech, Qi Chengxi, Vice Chairperson of the Tianjin Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, said that Tianjin, as an important window for China to participate in world economic cooperation, has achieved good results in the implementation of the development of the Industrial Internet. Since 2018, Tianjin has successively issued a series of documents to promote the innovation and development of the Industrial Internet, focusing on 5G network construction, nearly 25,000 5G base stations have been built, and more than 200 5G application scenarios have been built, providing a convenient facility environment for the promotion and application of the Industrial Internet. Promote the construction of 14 national-level industrial Internet platform projects, and select 96 pilot demonstration projects in the direction of new Internet manufacturing models and industrial big data, which have laid a solid foundation for expanding industrial Internet application scenarios and cultivating industrial Internet platforms in the industry. In the future, Tianjin will fully implement the construction of "Zhihui Tianjin", build an industrial Internet innovation chain, industrial chain, and service chain, actively promote the deep integration of new-generation information technology and manufacturing, and contribute Tianjin’s strength to manufacturing power, quality power, network power, and digital China.

Wang Jianwei, deputy director of the Information Technology Development Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that the platform is the core of the industrial Internet, and is a hub to realize the comprehensive connection and efficient configuration of all industrial elements, the whole industrial chain and the whole value chain. Since 2017, the Information Technology Development Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has achieved a series of results in promoting the construction of the industrial Internet platform. After more than three years of efforts, the "comprehensive + characteristic + professional" platform system has been basically formed. There are more than 100 platforms with certain industry and regional influence, and the total number of connected industrial equipment has reached 73 million sets. The platform development ecology continues to prosper. Wang Jianwei pointed out that in the next step, we will coordinate and promote the creation of industrial Internet demonstration zones, deepen the platform to empower, and create a multi-level and systematic industrial Internet platform system.

Wang Yunhui, deputy director of the Fifth Research Institute of Electronics of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, pointed out in his speech that the development of our country’s industrial Internet has gradually made breakthroughs in network foundation, platform hub, data elements, and security. As of the end of March 2021, the number of industrial APPs in our country has reached 403,000, and the supporting role of industrial APPs in promoting the application ecology of prosperous industrial Internet platforms, improving industrial quality and efficiency, and transforming and upgrading has initially appeared. However, there is still a long way to go for the cultivation goal of reaching one million industrial APPs in 2025. Wang Yunhui called for adding a sentence "application is the key" after the general principle and thinking of the development of the industrial Internet in our country "network is the foundation, platform is the core, security is the guarantee", to promote the construction of standards, quality, safety and other platforms, and promote the ecological development of cross-industry and cross-regional industrial Internet platform applications.

Subsequently, Li Peigen, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered a keynote speech entitled "Talking about Several Thoughts in Industrial Internet Applications". He elaborated on industrial Internet applications from four dimensions: system thinking, user experience, collaborative thinking, and ecological thinking. He pointed out that whether it is building or applying an industrial Internet platform, it is necessary to think about problems from the perspective of system and overall connection. Based on the new generation of information technologies such as the Internet of Things, big data, artificial intelligence, and 5G, with customer needs as the center, support the collaboration between man and machine, solidify and encapsulate industrial technology, experience, knowledge, and best practices into application software for specific scenarios, and create, trade, and disseminate on a larger scale, higher frequency, and shorter path.
