Qingdao Agricultural University and Royal Agricultural University jointly held the third academic exchange meeting.

On December 13th, the third academic exchange meeting between Qingdao Agricultural University and Royal Agricultural University and the academic conference on saline-alkali land and ecological agriculture in the Yellow River Delta were held in G205. Tian Yijun, Vice President of Qingdao Agricultural University, Mark Horton, Vice President of Royal Agricultural University, and Chang Xianmin, Vice President attended the meeting.

Tian Yizheng delivered an opening speech, extended sincere greetings to friends of Royal Agricultural University on behalf of the school, and extended a warm welcome to domestic and foreign experts attending this meeting. He pointed out that the Bathers College of Future Agricultural Science and Technology of Qingdao Agricultural University is one of the earliest Chinese-foreign cooperative education institutions in China, which mainly focuses on new agricultural science. The central task of the college is to cultivate high-level students with international literacy, and it has been approved as the project construction unit of Sino-foreign cooperative education demonstration institutions in Shandong Province, becoming the first batch of demonstration and leading Chinese-foreign cooperative education institutions in our province. The purpose of this meeting is to build an exchange bridge for international cooperation in high-efficiency agricultural technology in saline-alkali land, gather academic resources at home and abroad, accelerate the innovation of theory and technology in saline-alkali land improvement and utilization, promote the improvement of scientific research level of the two universities, and better serve the high-quality green development of agriculture in saline-alkali land.

Mark Horton said that the two universities have held academic exchange meetings for three consecutive years, and the scientific research and academic achievements of teachers and students play a very key role in solving global food production and sustainable agricultural development. I hope that the two universities can further enhance personnel exchanges and mutual visits, and strive to hold academic exchanges in an offline way. I wish the meeting a complete success.

At the meeting, experts and scholars at home and abroad, with the theme of "Saline-alkali land and ecological agriculture in the Yellow River Delta", conducted extensive and in-depth discussions on major national strategic needs and international academic frontiers and hot topics such as soil improvement, rational development and utilization, biological breeding, productivity improvement and ecological utilization of saline-alkali land, development of functional food in saline-alkali land, and innovative agricultural management model in saline-alkali land. Professor Mark Horton, Professor Nichola Cannon, Dr Iris McCormick, Dr Ayodeji Afolami, Professor Ma Wujun of Qingdao Agricultural University and Professor Song Xiangyun gave academic reports respectively.
